Daniel Negreanu is having a rough week in a return visit to his native country of Canada.
The seven-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner posted solid results this summer in Las Vegas. But he’s striking out during the current WSOP Online Bracelet Series on GGPoker, and his frustration is beginning to show during recent livestreams.
Can Poker Legend Finally Cash?

Negreanu traveled from his Las Vegas home to Vancouver a week ago to compete in the WSOP online series, and has been livestreaming for hours per day since. Those who’ve been watching his streams are aware the breaks haven’t gone his way.
Monday’s six-hour stream was his sixth of the series, and he still has yet to cash, a stark contrast from the 2025 WSOP in Las Vegas, where he cashed 15 times and reached five official final tables.
The GGPoker ambassador entered Monday’s $10,300 buy-in GGMillion$ High Roller, and was immediately greeted by a tough table that included Bryn Kenney and David Peters.
Negreanu had one of the biggest stacks at the table early in the tournament. But he dropped down a bit before hitting trip queens to win a sizable pot. He’d dip to around 30 big blinds shortly after and would get it all in preflop with pocket jacks against a smaller pocket pair, only to watch his bigger-stacked opponent flop a set.
That forced the Poker Hall of Famer to rebuy with just 17 big blinds. He’d double up quickly when his ace-jack cracked pocket kings, leading to a sarcastic celebration in what has been one of the few big pots that has gone his way during the series.
All that excitement would soon turn into anger when Negreanu took a bad beat. Moments later, he’d go all in with K♠9♠ and lost a race to Ole Schemion’s 6♠6♣, which caused a minor meltdown following a series of bad beats.
“Can I win this one?” Negreanu asked before seeing the flop. “Mother f****r. It’s f*****g crazy. Can I ever beat a small f*****g pair?”
“Get the f**k outta here! Suck f*****g crazy,” Negreanu shouted after seeing the river card.
Negreanu continued to rant about losing flips before rebuying one last time. He’d already lost with AxJx against Ax9x and AxKx to Kx10x, not to mention the pocket jacks bad beat. The third time was not a charm as he’d bow out with middle pair against top pair after having his stack dwindle down to just six big blinds. His tournament ended long before the money bubble burst.
Negreanu didn’t find any better luck the first few days of the series. He did, however, win his first two matches in the $10,000 Heads-Up Championship last week. But he took a brutal bad beat in the Round of 32 against Tzur Levy.
The action began with Negreanu raising to two big blinds with 7♠7♦. Levy, with 50 big blinds behind, moved all in with A♥5♠. Negreanu called for 20 big blinds and was out in front. But the A♠ on the river ended the match, eliminating “Kid Poker” one win away from reaching the money.
The GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Series, which began Aug. 17, runs until Sept. 29. Negreanu still has a few more shots at a bracelet — or at least a cash — including Tuesday’s $25,000 buy-in GGMillion$ Super High Roller Championship.
