Canadian Matthew “Stumpfed” Stumpf bagged two Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) titles on May 13, and looked set to secured a stunning hat trick a day later until another poker star halted him in his tracks. Andras “probirs” Nemeth is no stranger to podium finished in high-stakes tournaments at PokerStars, and he came out on top in a SCOOP event for the fourth time in his glistening career, defeating Stumpf heads-up in SCOOP 55-H: $1,050 NLHE 7-Max Turbo PKO.
Some 210 players bought in and created a $210,000 prize pool. Half went on each player’s head in the form of a progressive bounty, with the remaining 50% awarded to the top 29 finishers. Luminaries including Niklas “Lena900” Astedt, Yuri “theNERDguy” Dzivielevski, and final table bubble boy Alisson “heyalisson” Piekazewicz were among those who saw a return on their $1,050 investment.
The final table was packed with top-tier players. “aferrao147” was the first of the seven finalists relieved of their stack. Roman “Gogac sniper” Hrabec joined the list of busted players before “DaniC19941893” fell by the wayside in fifth.
Fourth place with to Lithuanian grinder Matas “NoTilit” Cikinas, with 2023 SCOOP Main Event champion Felipe “lipe piv” Boianovsky crashing out in third.
Boianovsky’s untimely demise left Nemeth heads-up against Stumpf. Both players locked in $17,945 from the main prize pool, leaving the now five-figures worth of final bounties to play for. Nemeth managed to stop Stumpf in his tracks, resigning the runner-up to a $22,648 consolation prize while securing SCOOP title number four and $47,218 for himself.

Vecino Complete an Impressive PokerStars SCOOP Hat Trick
Estonian grinder Juanki “B4NKR0LL3R” Vecino is now a three-time SCOOP champion after coming out on top of SCOOP 47-H: $1,050 NLHE Single Re-Entry, a tournament that saw the 264 entrants fight toot and nail for the lion’s share of the $263,000 prize pool.
Six of the nine finalists saw their $1,050 investment swell into a five-figure prize. Dominykas “Mikensonas” Mikolaitis, “wanderer_pro,” and “JackRipperJr” were the first three casualties of the final table, securing prizes of $5,508, $6,652, and $8,879, respectively.
Sixth place and the first $10,000+ score of the final table went to the man mentioned above, the one and only Andras “probirs” Nemeth. Nemeth was joined on the sidelines by Espen “Hymn2Ninkasi” Jorstad, who earned yet more points for Team Lex. Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis‘ team now holds a sizable lead over the chasing pack.
Renan “Internett93o” Bruschi‘s remarkable 2024 SCOOP continued with a fourth place finish worth $21,112, with the elimination of Malta’s “Haringbuis” sending the tournament into the heads-up stage.
Here, Vecino clashed with Tomi “elmerixx” Brouk. Vecino brushed aside his talented opponent to take down his third SCOOP title and to pad his bankroll with $50,200. Brouk walked away with $37,611.

Ashton became a three-time champion after helping himself to the $1,050 FL 2-7 Triple Draw title.
Team Lex Is Out In Front
Team Lex has a near 900-point lead in the inaugural SCOOP League, although there is plenty of time for the chasing teams to claw their way back into contention. Team Lex has 5,120 points currently, with Team Spraggy in second on 4,325 points. Team Tonkaaaa occupies third place with 2,990 points, while Team Fintan is bringing up the rear courtesy of its 2,305 points total.
