Back in Vegas last month we spoke to legendary Vlogger Brad Owen fresh off a Mixed Games tournament win at the WPT World Championship.

Brad Owen has just released his Vlog on his WPT Mixed Games win (see below). In that Vlog you can see our very own GPA-nominated LemOn36, and today we have his interview with Brad.
LemOn36: Brad, this is unbelievable. Everybody knows you as a Hold’em vlogger and crusher. What the hell just happened?
Brad Owen: I don’t know! I just played my first-ever HORSE event two weeks ago, I played another one a week ago, and then this is my third-ever HORSE event. I’ve just been getting crushed in no-limit this month, decided to shake things up, and I don’t know, man, something about it, I feel like I’ve caught on really quickly.
It’s come pretty intuitively. And some people have come in and helped me along the way, even today giving me some pointers and advice. So, I just had a blast playing with Mike, Chris, Brad, and all these guys. It was just an amazing day.
LemOn36: There’s something special about mixed games; the atmosphere feels different. People say that it is the split pots and it’s because the games aren’t solved. Would you agree there? And what can we do to promote mixed games a little bit more? Because obviously, you had a great time today.
Brad Owen: Sure. It’s just a way more social game, so much fun. There’s very little tanking. It’s just a much lighter atmosphere and I really enjoyed that, especially when it’s been a rough month. I fired two bullets in the 25K, and fired two bullets in the World Championship. So, I needed this one to save my year, and certainly to save the month.
So, I’m very happy to win this, especially with the guys I was playing with, and to take home this Wynn Trophy.

I was literally the only media person covering the WPT HORSE Championship, which is unfortunate! Most mixed games remain unsolved, and when combined with the limit format and split pots, they create an atmosphere that is almost universally friendlier and more relaxed than in Hold’em tournaments.
I truly hope Brad’s win helps bring mixed games to the forefront, thanks to his incredible reach. Even his opponents agreed and didn’t seem to mind too much that Brad took it down after a deal, because mixed games are criminally underrated. This might just be the push that allows players to enjoy these games without having to travel to a few select tournaments.
