Don’t like the prize pool in your Twister games? Spin again and get a second prize pool added to the first one.
iPoker has added a new feature to their Lottery SNG offering Twister Sit & Go. Twister Boost gives players a chance to increase the prize pool when they draw a low multiplier.
The feature is currently available at selected stakes, including €3 and €15. If you get drawn in a x2 or x3 multiplier game, you have the option to pay an additional buy-in to spin again. The second prize pool is then added to the initial x2 or x3 prize pool.
All three players have to agree to pay the additional buy-in, if one doesn’t then the original x2 or x3 game will take place with no extra prizes.
The option to spin again may be offered multiple times.
It will be interesting to see if this is a popular feature. On the one hand, it is an additional rake being charged, for essentially raising the stakes. On the other hand, you can see the opponents in the game when the boost is offered. If they are good regulars it would make sense to reject the boost, if they are soft opponents then it is possibly +EV to boost as much as possible.
This is one of many ways in which operators have tried to make the lower multipliers entertaining because they tend to be disappointing for recreational players. Most operators make their x2 games faster to get them over with quickly. Some sites, like GGPoker, offer an insurance feature to mitigate the boredom of low multipliers. Unibet have x1.5 multipliers in HexaPro, which is designed to increase the prevalence of higher multiplier games.
