Doug Polk buys a second Texas poker club

A second Lodge Card House, bought with Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen, in San Antonio is set to be the biggest poker room in the State.

Earlier this month Doug Polk, Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen were denied the opportunity to open a second poker room in Texas. The City Council of Farmers Branch did not want their own version of the Lodge Card House.

That has not stopped Polk and friends from taking over the poker scene in Texas, and last night they announced they have acquired a second card club.

The Rounders Card Club in San Antonio is set to become another Lodge Card Club from July 3.

The team decided that rather than trying to build a room from scratch they would instead acquire the biggest card room in the area and improve it. Indeed, the venue is set to become the largest poker room in Texas. It already has 30 tables but Polk revealed to PokerNews that they have acquired a lease to expand that to 80 tables.

Currently in Texas poker rooms are legal as long as rake is not collected, which means venues like the Lodge Card House can operate by charging membership fees instead.
