More than 100 million people have watched a video of him playing JJ online, but he revealed the revenue for it was not exactly life-changing.
We wrote last year about Alexander Wolfgang Seibt becoming the first poker player with one million subscribers on YouTube, despite not being a household name in poker circles. This included mention of a video that attracted 80 million views.
The video has now gone past 100 million views, making it the most viewed poker video of all time. Something that Isaac Haxton questioned recently on Twitter.
What is going on here? This is apparently the most viewed poker clip of all time. In it the hero matter of factly narrates a hand in which he raises with JJ, gets five callers, flop T52r, he checkraises, bets turn, and wins a 70bb pot without showdown. https://t.co/iyhdEjtlld

Ike’s scepticism is understandable, the video itself is a really straightforward, undramatic, hand where he plays JJ and wins without showdown.
This prompted the creator himself to reveal some information about the video:
95% of the views came from the shorts feed (being recommended) this shows the algorithm the video is performing well and results in it being shown to more people daily pic.twitter.com/mmW3XwFwqt

not surprising again, it’s a sausage fest out there 🤣 although i will note that this 13% female statistic is WAYY higher than the 4% i usually see on vlogs pic.twitter.com/mg0bKnDPyb

and what everyone really cares about: revenue! much to everyone’s dismay, i actually didn’t make much from this. definitely not anything to reinvest and purchase subs with (which is what everyone is suggesting) pic.twitter.com/vq38njMqgl

He reveals that the algorithm is what made the video such a success and he has previously spoken in interviews about how his videos are created for mobile phone usage in the profile format, which no doubt has lead to the video going viral.
What really may surprise people is 103 million views only translated to $2,900 roughly in revenue. Perhaps the 236,000 new subscribers are the much more beneficial result of the video’s viral success.
