We start our look back at the last 12 months by recounting the amazing run by Scott Seiver that bagged him WSOP Player of the Year.

It’s hard to define which player had the biggest impact in 2024, especially with Super High Roller events skewing the figures.
However, perhaps the most memorable player story this year was at the WSOP when Scott Seiver won three bracelets in one series. Something only five other players have managed in Vegas previously.
That took his bracelet count to seven, all of which you can see below:
Year | Event | Prize Money |
---|---|---|
2008 | $5,000 No Limit Hold’em | $755,891 |
2018 | $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship | $296,222 |
2019 | $10,000 Razz Championship | $301,421 |
2022 | $2,500 Freezeout No Limit Hold’em | $320,059 |
2024 | $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship | $426,744 |
2024 | $1,500 Razz | $141,374 |
2024 | $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship | $411,041 |
In total Seiver cashed for $1,449,773 this year at the series, winning three events, making another two final tables and cashing 17 times in total. This was enough to make him take down a closely contested Player of the Year title too.
All the more impressive was that Seiver announced at the start of the series he was going to win Player of the Year and more than one bracelet. Seiver is more of a cash game player and one wonders how many bracelets he would have by now if he put this level of effort in every year.
