The Spanish High Roller defeats one of the best final tables ever seen at the World Series of Poker for his first career bracelet.
We had another contender for ‘greatest final table in poker history’ as Chance Kornuth, Viktor Blom, Adrian Mateos, Jesse Lonis, Jonathan Jaffee, Johannes Straver, Leon Sturm and UFC commentator Bruce Buffer (yes, really) all did battle in the $50,000 High Roller event at the WSOP.
They would all have to make their way, however, for prolific Spanish High Roller Sergio Aido, who took it down for $2,026,506.
He won the biggest prizes awarded at the WSOP so far to capture his first bracelet, after defeating Kornuth heads-up.

177 players was a record in this event and more proof that the High Roller scene is booming at the moment.
“Yeah, it feels very good, of course, it’s something special. So, yeah, I had a very good idea about this. The best thing in my poker career for me for the moment,” Aido said after winning his first bracelet.
Aido sits at 2nd place in the Spain All-Time Money List with $19,186,555 in winnings. His tablemate last night, Mateos, is still at number 1 by quite a margin.
