In a year where Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu end decade long bracelet slumps, the stand  out story of the year is still Scott Seiver.

He has just taken down the $10,000 No Limit Single Draw Championship for $411,041. In doing so he became the first player in 15 years to win three bracelets in a series at the World Series of Poker.

The last person to manage that was Jeff Lisando in 2009. Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Puggy Pearson and Ted Forrest are the only other players to bag three in a year in Las Vegas. George Danzer won three in a year in 2014 but one of them was at the WSOP Asia Pacific event in Australia.

Seiver said he wanted Player of the Year and put money on it in 2024 and this result had major ramifications in that race. Not only did he take the lead, but his nearest rival Jeremy Ausmus came 4th in this event. Seiver should be around 400 points clear at the top when the table is updated.

“I feel very satisfied right now,” Seiver told PokerNews in his winner’s interview. “I can’t really describe it. I’m like on Cloud Nine right now. This just means so much to me, and it also is a step in a personal journey I’ve made for myself where I’ve had a eye in the sky dream where I want to win one bracelet in every single discipline there is.”
