Barny Boatman headlines the 2024 nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame, which is decided later this month.
Josh Arieh, Patrik Antonius, Ted Forrest, Kathy Liebert, Mike Matusow, Barny Boatman, John Cernuto, Matt Savage, Isai Scheinberg, and Bill Smith are all the 2023 Nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame.
Everyone on the list has been nominated before, with the exception of Boatman and Cernuto, who are first time nominees.
There are too many deserving people on the list for only one to be inducted this year. As was argued last year, many of them are never going to be inducted once the modern online players start to turn 40 in a few year’s time.
The vote now goes to the remaining living members of the Poker Hall of Fame to decide one inductee this year.
Hall of Fame Criteria
The criteria, as always, are as follows:
- A player must have played poker against acknowledged top competition
- Played for high stakes
- Be a minimum of 40 years old at the time of nomination
- Played consistently well, gaining the respect of peers
- Stood the test of time
- Or, for non-players, contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results
Once again it will be just one inductee this year and they will be announced on July 15 on the eve of the WSOP Main Event final table.
