A Belarusian businessman has beaten a stacked final table to win the biggest poker prize of 2024 so far.
Mikalai Vaskaboinikau defeated a field of 171 in the $125,000 Triton Poker Main Event in Montenegro, overcoming a final table that included Phil Ivey, Wai Kin Yong and Bryn Kenney.
He took down a first prize of $4,737,000, which is the biggest tournament prize awarded in 2024 so far.
As is often the case in these events, for this businessman the prize was “not life-changing” even though it was the biggest one poker has seen awarded so far this year.
The action continues today with the $200,000 No Limit event, followed by a series of PLO events to conclude the series in Montenegro.
