Could we finally see a sequel to the cult classic? Not for the first time, Matt Damon says…perhaps.

Before you get overexcited we should warn you that this has been rumoured again and again and again, then nothing happens, for over 25 years.
Yet here we are again. Matt Damon has, for the gazillionth time, hinted that Rounders 2 might one day happen.
He was being interviewed on the Rich Eisen Show about sequels to his biggest movies:
“The one we’ve been talking about for *years*, and we’re trying to… I just saw Edward Norton a few weeks ago… all of us want to do it… is a second ‘Rounders’ movie.” – Matt Damon 🎬🃏

Damon reported that he had spoken with Ed Norton recently about revisiting the characters from the movie now that the poker world has evolved so much since the 1998 film. He also confirmed that Brian Koppleman had a whole sequel planned out and ready to go over 10 years ago.
He also rightly pointed out the sense of ownership poker fans have for the movie, which bombed when it was first released but gained cult status afterwards.
However, as a veteran of the ‘Rounders 2 might be happening’ news story, I would advise you against getting too excited just yet.
