The American gets the monkey off his back for an almost $1 million payday to kick off the high roller series in Monte Carlo.

The first event of the Triton Series in Monte Carlo was the debut of the $25,000 WPT Global Ultimate Slam, a new tournament that will feature on every tour stop.
Once again the numbers were impressive for the high roller series with 170 entries in total.
The eventual winner was American Brian Kim, who took it down for $941,000 after defeating Enrico Camoschi heads-up.
Kim was perhaps considered the best Triton regular not to have a title, until now, after many near misses.
“It’s elusive,” Kim said in his post-game interview, “With all these great players, it’s possible I could have been coming to Triton for another seven years and not winning one.”
Elsewhere in Monte Carlo the $30,000 8-Handed event attracted 144 entries and was won by Kayhan Mokri for $1,005,000. The $40,000 Mystery Bounty event is currently underway.
